Effective date: June 19, 2026
DriveQuality helps you capture drives, replay routes, and understand the moments that shaped each drive. This policy explains what data DriveQuality collects, how it is used, and the boundaries we keep around your driving data.
DriveQuality is research-informed. It is not a medical, legal, insurance, crash-risk, or safety rating.
Who operates DriveQuality
DriveQuality is operated by Palm Tree Dreams Inc. for the DriveQuality app and backend services.

Data we collect
DriveQuality may collect the following data when you use the app.
Route and location data
- Precise and coarse location while DriveQuality is detecting, recording, finishing, or replaying a drive.
- Route evidence used to create Drive Replay, Drive Moments, and route quality decisions.
- Masked or reduced route information used for app diagnostics and support views.
Motion and driving-pattern data
- Motion and fitness signals used to help distinguish driving from walking, subway-like movement, or other non-drive movement.
- Driving-pattern signals such as speed, acceleration, braking, cornering, focus, smoothness, and movement context.
Optional health context
If you choose to enable body-context features, DriveQuality may read limited HealthKit information such as heart rate and heart-rate variability to estimate in-drive stress trends. Health data is optional and is only used for DriveQuality features.
Vehicle and user-provided content
- Vehicle profile details you choose to enter.
- Vehicle photos or artwork you choose to add so your car appears in the app.
Account, product, and purchase data
- Anonymous device account identifiers created by the app to sync your drives.
- Product interaction events, such as opening Drive Replay, selecting a Moment, viewing a paywall, or starting Pro.
- Purchase history needed to unlock Pro features through Apple StoreKit.
Diagnostics
- Crash data, performance data, and app diagnostics used to fix bugs and understand whether capture, upload, route processing, and replay rendering worked.
- Diagnostic uploads are designed to exclude raw coordinate payloads, full polylines, provider payloads, tokens, and auth headers.
How we use data
We use data to:
- detect and record drives;
- save and sync trips;
- build Drive Replay and pinned Moments;
- score and summarize Drive Style;
- show route, speed, braking, cornering, focus, and intensity patterns;
- provide Pro features and purchase access;
- debug capture, upload, backend processing, and replay rendering;
- improve reliability, product quality, and user experience.
What we do not do
DriveQuality does not:
- sell your personal data;
- use your driving data for third-party advertising tracking;
- claim to predict crashes;
- provide medical, legal, insurance, or safety ratings;
- share raw route traces in support diagnostics;
- put Supabase, Mapbox secret tokens, backend secrets, or service-role keys in the iOS app.
In plain terms: DriveQuality does not sell your personal data, and DriveQuality does not use your driving data for third-party advertising tracking.
Service providers
DriveQuality uses service providers to operate the app. These may include:
- DriveQuality API and database services for trip sync, scoring, and route processing;
- Supabase Postgres/PostGIS for production data storage and support visibility;
- Mapbox for backend route matching and route context;
- Sentry for crash and error monitoring;
- Apple StoreKit for purchases;
- Apple HealthKit only if you enable optional health-context features.
Service providers are used to operate DriveQuality, not to sell your driving data.
Data retention
DriveQuality keeps data while your account is active or while it is needed to provide the product, debug reliability, meet legal obligations, prevent abuse, or maintain backups. Diagnostic records may be kept in reduced or aggregated form to improve reliability.
Your choices
You can control data collection by:
- turning off Auto Capture in the app;
- changing Location, Motion, Camera, Notification, and Health permissions in iOS Settings;
- not enabling optional health-context features;
- not adding a vehicle photo;
- contacting support to request account or data deletion.
Turning off key permissions may limit automatic capture, route replay, Drive Moments, or Drive Style features.
Children
DriveQuality is not designed for children under 13. Do not use DriveQuality if you are under 13.
Security
We use technical and operational safeguards intended to protect your data. No system is perfect, but DriveQuality is designed around privacy-conscious route processing, sanitized diagnostics, and separation between app-side public tokens and backend-only secrets.
Changes
We may update this policy as DriveQuality changes. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
